Der Bergfink, auch Nordfink genannt, ist als Singvogel nur mittelmäßig begnadet. Leider habe ich ihn noch nie singen gehört 😉 Wie die meisten Singvögel, singt der Bergfink natürlich auch im Frühjahr während der Partnersuche. Sein typischer Lebensraum sind die Birkenwälder Skandinaviens. Dort ist er einer der häufigsten Singvögel überhaupt. Vielleich komm ich ja mal im Frühjahr nach Norwegen oder Schweden dann werde ich auf jeden Fall mal versuchen dem Gesang des Bergfinken zu lauschen.
Bei uns kann man den Bergfink als Wintergast beobachten. Wenn ich den ersten Bergfink an unserer Futterstelle sehe, ist es für mich das Zeichen, das der Winter vor der Tür steht.
Bergfinke sind Kurz- und Mittelstreckenzieher. Sie ziehen für die Überwinterung nach Mitteleuropa. Innerhalb der Finkenfamikie zeigt er das ausgeprägteste Zugverhalten.
Ich freue mich jedes Jahr darauf, den Bergfink gemeinsam mit anderen Finken am Futterhäuschen zu beobachten. In Größe und Form ist er dem Buchfink ähnlich, jedoch hat der Bergfink eine deutlich orange gefärbte Brust und Schulterpartie.
Oftmals sind sie in kleinen Trupps unterwegs, wobei ich gelesen habe, das man sie schon in Schwärmen von bis zu Hunderttausende Vögel gesichtet hat. Das wäre mir natürlich für mein Vogelhäuschen zu viel 😉 wobei das Schauspiel bestimmt unvergesslich wäre.
Im Frühjahr ziehen sie dann wieder zurück ins nördliche Europa.
